I was responding to an add in the Advocate, a Century Village newsletter. The ad stated " I have been servicing Century Village since 1986and can offer Condo Insurance from Liberty Mutual that focuses on giving you quality protection and service - at an affordable price." When I called I spoke with Michela and explained that I wanted to switch from Citizen's to Liberty Mutual. The price she quoted was high, and then she said I could get several discounts if I had my place inspected by Don Myler Inspections. She said my policy price would go down approximately $170 yearly. That sounded good, so I made an appointment for the inspection. The inspection cost me $75. Michela called me the next day to tell me that I didn't qualify for many discounts from the inspection and the price would only go down about $12 " FROM TOWER INSURANCE? " I said "what do you mean Tower Insurance, I explained to you that the whole reason I called was because I wanted to switch to Liberty Mutual." She said she understood that but Century Village was too far east and Liberty Mutual won't write policies on property within 5 miles of the coast. I was livid. This is a clear case of false advertising. When I told Michela that she told me, "I know, we were thinking of pulling the add because this isn't the first time this has happened. " I got scammed, pure and simple. I paid $75 for nothing when all along she knew she wouldn't be able to give me a Liberty Mutual policy in Century Village. Do not use this James McHugh company.
I can't say enough about this agency, specifically Michela, my insurance representative. She is not only courteous but has exceeded my expectations in a recent debacle with a water leak in my home. I was getting the runaround from restoration companies and called Michela with my frustrations. Within the hour, she called me back and recommended someone on Liberty Mutual's preferred list that could assist with my issue. She took a very proactive stance when helping me and did not want me bogged down with details that were the responsibility of Liberty Mutual. I worked with 2 adjusters on this leak, Michael Willis and Chastity Hernandez. Both were truly empathetic and efficient. They followed up with me several times to make sure all my questions were answered, as did Michela. I used to be a State Farm agent and understand how insurance works. Most people hate their insurance company; I cannot say the same. I am so impressed by my local office and Michela has everything to do with that. She treats me as an individual, someone important to her, not just as another customer or imposition in her day. Ingrid is also a delight to deal with and you can hear the smile on her face when she answers the phone. If you are looking for an insurance agent that will take time with you, show true concern for your situation and quote a fair market price for home insurance, please look to Michela. Thank you James McHugh for the team you have chosen to look after your clients. Sincere thanks to Michela who has gone above the call of duty to help me with my recent claim.
