Then she was off to the dressing rooms. They helped her and showed her to full length lighted mirrors, gave her shoes... and I just sat back and watched her smile. What a great day shopping with my daughter.
The sales consultant turned to me and said, " Watch this, it's usually the 1st dress."
I drove down an hour after trying to locate a place to either rent or purchase a sweet sixteen dress. The owner was about the rudest person we have ever encountered. Her arrogance was overwhelming.
We were greeted at the door by a salesperson who gave us a quick review on which dresses needed to be fitted and ordered and which were off the rack. They had a nice selection and the prices were fair. Everything in the off the rack section was "on sale" based on the ticket cost. I really hate this kind of sales tactic and wonder who are the people that this works on. But anyway, we ended up getting really turned off when my daughter went to try on dresses. The saleswoman Michele was in and out of her dressing room without asking her if it was okay. My daughter didn't seem to mind but I found it rude and invasive. We went to three other dress shops that day and none of the others did that. At Case Hermosa, they would knock and say "Are you dressed? Is it okay if I come in?". That seemed a much more respectful way to handle it. Things took a turn for the worse when were subjected to a long speech about photographing my daughter in a dress To be clear, we took one or two pictures of her favorite dress in order to be able to look back at the end of the day and make a final decision. We got a long winded explanation about posting pictures on social media (which we weren't) and how other girls would run out and buy the same dress upon seeing it. It sounded like a lot of hog wash and I guarantee there was another issue at hand. We were told we could photograph our favorite two. We were, in fact, only photographing her favorite. The whole speech was ridiculous and unnecessary. None of the other dress shops said anything about taking pictures. Being "scolded" changed our whole mood and really impacted our shopping experience negatively. We ended up buying her prom dress at The Crowning Closet.
I'll be darned 8 dresses later... and she chose the very 1st dress! These ladies knew their stuff!
Prom Dress Shopping! My daughter is so hard to shop with. Indecisive is a great adjective to describe her. So, I Google Prom Dresses and Pamela's Dresses showed up... Within a 45 minute drive, check... many styles to choose from, check.. Facebook and website to view, check. Open on a school Holiday... check. Pamela's Dresses here we come!
I had an absolutely amazing experience here! I was planning on going prom dress shopping all day but then I stumbled upon this shop by accident and was amazed. I am a plus size girl and have had so many awful experiences before this shop. They have a "curvalicious" section for girls just like me and the selection was actually a decent size and great quality. I'm not offended if someone refers to me as plus sized or bigger by any means as long as they attempt to cater to my restrictions of dressing because I, like any girl for prom, want to be comfortable and feel beautiful. And that is exactly what this location did for me; they were so kind and very attentive. I've gone to multiple stores before this one and if you're plus size and you want proper treatment, go here! So many other places have pretty much shunned me for my size only showing care for my friends that are single digit sizes. Prom dress shopping was so stressful for me being the size I am and Pamela's made me feel so beautiful and excited for prom. They treated me as if I was like any other girl that walked in there and I appreciated that so much. They encouraged me to go a little outside of my comfort zone and now I have a gorgeous dress that I'm honestly in awe at how beutiful it is. They are a bit pricey but the quality is so worth it. The only small complaint I had was that the dressing room was separated by a curtain to which people can see in sometimes, but they are a pop-up store so I understood. Other than that everything was perfect, and I've already told all of my friends to come here to get their dresses as well! Absolutely loved it here!!
Ladies, this was the best dress shopping experience. No hot department stores dressing rooms, looking at the same dresses over and over. The girls were having fun shopping and the staff was having fun. They even took pictures for my daughter to send to her daddy. (he's paying for the dress) Then they told us they track the dresses by school. Yahoo! And better yet, we both left with a smile on our face. Thank you Pamela's Dresses, we'll be back next year!
I didn't think it was difficult to find at all. Pamela was very personable and went above and beyond to find me the right dress for my body type. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the dresses and they had a large selection. If you're looking for a long sleeve dress however this is not their specialty.
I was shocked when we walked in to the store. Hundreds of dresses to choose from in all colors and sizes. And MANY of them were on SALE! The store was bright and cheery, well lit, clean and well staffed. The sales help greeted us at the door and couldn't be friendlier. They explained the process so my daughter wouldn't get overwhelmed and told her to find at least 6 of her favorites.
